About Shaun Mckeown BSc.(Hons), Reiki Master Teacher and Practitioner - Founder of Inspire Reiki

My Reiki story originates from a background in health and wellbeing, from a long career as an Exercise Conditioning Specialist and Holistic Health Practitioner, helping people build their health and performance. Searching for the best methods to help my clients build their health, increasingly lead me towards more holistic approaches, where I found Reiki. Reiki felt a totally natural field for me to work in and my study of Reiki progressed quickly. I intuitively knew Reiki was what I was meant to be doing, with a strong inner awareness that this path would involve a focus on helping children in need of help.

My path is very unusual among Reiki Masters. I was first an infantry soldier in the British army, probably as far across the spectrum from calm, peaceful, healing Reiki as you can get. Involved in competitive sports, combative martial arts and completing a BSc (Hons) Degree in Sport & Exercise Science, before gravitating towards more holistic disciplines. This journey has however provided a rare and valuable life experience of migrating across the full spectrum from a very fiery (yang) existence, through a more sceptical and analytical view of life, to a very calm, compassionate, healing (ying) perspective.

In addition to my original training in Usui Reiki, I am one of a small percentage of practitioners in the UK to have taken Usui/Tibetan Reiki Master training directly from Reiki Master- William Rand, from the USA, who is one of the western world's leading authorities on Usui Reiki. This has had a very positive effect to my Reiki study as well as the energy I carry. I am also a member of the UK Reiki Federation, as a Reiki Master Teacher member. I am a positive, calm and determined individual and live and work with strong personal ethics and values. I believe in helping those in need and I have a respect for nature and our environment.

About Liz Sutton BA (Hons), Reiki Practitioner

My Reiki story started in early 2012 when I was looking to massively improve my own health and wellbeing through a total holistic approach, which was how I met Shaun. Within a very short period of time it became clear to me that Reiki was going to become a much more important part of my life than purely receiving treatments; I was meant to be working with Reiki energy to help others and through Reiki to make a difference

I qualified in Usui/Tibetan Reiki in 2012, receiving my training from Shaun and so carry the same strong energy, and am continuing my Reiki study with him to complete my Masters qualification this year. I studied music at university gaining a BA (Hons) degree and then changed direction spending the last twenty five years working in and with blue-chip companies both in the UK and abroad, the last twelve of which I have run my own business as an independent consultant specialising in financial and strategic communications.

I am now turning my professional focus to concentrate on Reiki as a result of the profound benefits I have experienced with Reiki in both my personal and professional lives. I am a determined and empathetic person for whom trust and loyalty are inextricably linked into my strong personal ethics and values.

It is engrained in to the culture of our business to constantly improve our skill with Reiki through
